With the proviso that I'm an uncultured Yank, I pronounce it "Shiv-ass Ree-gal."

SHIV-ass regAL. How do you get those phonetic letters I've seen you use?

But: any way you like, as long as you don't expect me to drink the stuff. :-)

Wrongly, I imagine.

There is a saying that if you put two scousers in a room you'll get three opinions. I also contend that you'll get three pronunciations of the word, "crudité" as well as a lot of sniggering. Chivas Regal would probably end up as "give us a bottle of that Shivvy, queen."

Chivas as if it were Spanish. Regal as if it were English. (Unless I'm speaking Italian, in which case Regal is REH-gal). In fact, I don't think I've ever had occasion to mention this while speaking English, but the brand was quite popular (and posh) in Italy when I lived there, so I'm sure that's where my non-standard pronunciation of "Chivas" comes from...

The "ch" voiced as in "sh", and all four consonants equally stressed and equally timed after the French fashion, rather than stressed as in English. Otherwise pronounced as in English, so the "s" is pronounced rather than silent, and the "e" follows the English pronuncuation.

It's probably wrong.

Say it? Just drink it!

If given a choice between a malt and Chivas Regal, I'd go for the malt, but I'd rather do a Compare & Contrast. The truth is that premium blends (as to be fair are most non-premium ones) are quality products. Would we want to be without our Black Bottle and Islay Mist?

The key to your nuptial bliss! Disagreements are polled through the rather enormous friends-list! The reply consensus is taken to be the final word on the matter!
Had I only known of this fabulous tool before...

P.S. How many cards are dealt in a two player game of cribbage?

Ooh, no, no, no, no, no. There's no dispute. My grandmother taught me five-card crib ("the old game"); manjushra's taught her six-card crib ("the new-fangled nonsense"). We don't argue about which is better, as we are both completely clear on this point.

Barnes is confusing the two-player cribbage with 4 player version, where each player gets 5 cards and submits one each to the crib.
He knows the rules of Canasta though.

James is playing new-fangled nonsense. In the old game, 5 are dealt to each player, 2 are discarded to the crib, leaving 3 in each hand and 4 in the crib. See wikipedia.
They are both fine games, of course.

Wiki says:
"
The deal and the formation of the crib
The players cut for first deal. Traditionally, the player who cuts the lowest card deals first (ace counting low). The dealer shuffles a standard 52-card deck, and deals six cards (there are different requirements for variations of the game). Each player then discards two cards face-down to form the crib (there are different requirements for variations of the game), which will be used by the dealer
"

Clearly you are playing a variation of the game.
