Thai rather than Japanese
Met up with a friend for dinner last night; he asked if I fancied trying the city's only Japanese restaurant. Somehow I felt this might be a bad move, and we opted for the Thai restaurant instead. Which was just as well, because during the evening someone threw a hand-grenade at the Japanese restaurant. Nobody injured, and only "minor material damage" reported; but I think I was happy to just have conversation rather than explosion with my meal.

my goodness!

i'm guessing that wasn't the reason you thought it would be a bad move though... perhaps more along the lines that eating seafood in a land locked country is always something worth thinking twice about?

Did someone have a problem with Japan or sushi?
Lucky escape for you!

Heh. I suspect a disgruntled patron ran afoul of [info]flemmarde's thought about eating seafood in a land-locked country.

Meep! Just goes to show it's worth having fine culinary judgement.

By coincidence, I ate Thai last night as well - but I don't think any Japanese restaurants in Leeds were attacked with a hand-grenade while I was doing so.

You could've had a really firey debate, though. Hot food indeed. An explosive evening but hopefully without the devastating morning after. Bursting with puns, aren't I?

Not bad, but if I had gone to the Japanese restaurant I would have ben eating sushi, which rather undermines some of your imagery!
